Air Suspension Kits

Air suspension kits work with a compressor to raise and lower the height of a vehicle. The benefits of this system can be practical, although in some parts of the United States there used only for cosmetic reasons.

Some companies design air suspension kits with a sole vehicle in mind, for example a Silverado. A specialized kit is usually more effective and practical than a cheaper one-size-fits-all product. For trucks, it is often better to consider the overall load that the vehicle will be carrying or pulling when choosing an air suspension kit.

While some people may use an air suspension kit to change the vehicles appearance by lowering it as much as possible, they can also be used to increase performance. For example, the ideal height for driving a truck on the highway may be different than that of a back country road. A control unit installed in the vehicle's cab allows the driver to easily make adjustments. Most systems can also be installed on motorhomes for increased control and performance.

The compressor for an air lift kit should be carefully chosen. If it is too small, the driver may suffer from bad performance or be forced to install a second unit. Likewise, compressors that are too large take up space that could be used for other items.
